additional procedure for scientific review

For several cancer types, data for the NCR are collected in the context of national registries, which are maintained by IKNL in conjunction with national multidisciplinary working groups. Data applications on these cancer types, with the purpose of conducting scientific research, are reviewed by both the NCR’s Supervisory Committee and the scientific committee of the particular registries. This procedure does not apply to practitioners who request data concerning their own patients.

Oesophageal and stomach cancer

The oesophageal-gastric cancer registry is maintained by IKNL and the Dutch Upper GI Cancer Group (DUCG). To have your application evaluated, please complete the contact form on the right of this page and send your research proposal to gegevensaanvraag@iknl.nl (please use this DUCG template). You will be contacted by a consultant of the NCR analysis department of IKNL, who will assist you in drafting an application form.

A signed version of the application form, together with your research proposal, should be sent to both gegevensaanvraag@iknl.nl and projectaanvraag@ducg.nl. Please note that this should be done no later than 8 weeks before the next scientific meeting of the DUCG. The meeting dates may be found at www.ducg.nl.

Following a positive evaluation of your research proposal by the scientific committee, you will be scheduled to present your proposal at the scientific meeting of the DUCG. Your data request is granted once your research proposal finds support in 80% of the casted votes at the scientific meeting.
